Dr. Noel Aineplan is the Senior Manager for Better Regulation at GALVmed, leading efforts to strengthen veterinary regulatory systems and promote harmonization across Africa. He brings extensive experience in regulatory science and international collaboration, having contributed to the development of regional and continental frameworks that enhance access to quality veterinary medicines and vaccines.

Dr. Agatha Ugboma is the Project Officer for the Regulatory System for Veterinary Products (RSVP) Project in the Department of Antimicrobial Resistance and Veterinary Products at the World Organisation of Animal Health. With a background in veterinary medicine and public health, she supports efforts to strengthen regulatory systems for veterinary products, ensuring safer and more effective disease control.

Dr David Mackay

Dr David Mackay qualified as a veterinary surgeon and worked in general veterinary practice before obtaining postgraduate degrees in immunology from the Universities of Birmingham and London. He then embarked on a research career in exotic viral diseases of livestock culminating as Head of the Pirbright Laboratory when it was part of the Institute for Animal Health. David subsequently moved into the regulatory area, working at the Veterinary Medicines Directorate in the UK before moving to lead the Veterinary Medicines Division of the European Medicines Agency. During his career he has published on epizootic diseases of livestock and on regulatory issues, particularly in relation to veterinary vaccines. Since leaving the EMA in 2018, David provides independent advice to governmental and not-for-profit organisations in relation to regulation of veterinary medicines with a particular interest in promoting vaccine security for vaccines against epizootic diseases of animals.

Dr. Huyam Salih; the Director of African Union-InterAfrican Bureau for Animal Resource. She is a Sudanese Veterinary epidemiologist with more than 20 years of extensive and diversified experience in managing, planning, and leading for livestock development using animal health interventions, disease risk assessment and prevention in Livestock value chains at national and global levels. She has a Master’s degree in Tropical Animal Health and a PhD degree of Veterinary. She has worked in different positions aim to maintain the One Health status, ensure compliance with international sanitary and phyto-sanitary (SPS) measures, and expand livestock value chains linking smallholder producers.

Prof Baptiste Dungu

Prof Baptiste Dungu is a veterinarian with a PhD in vaccinology and more than 30 years of experience in the research, development, manufacturing, regulation, quality and marketing of vaccines and other animal disease control tools. Currently an Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases and Immunology at the University of Kinshasa, DRC, he further leads a program on neglected zoonotic diseases and, through his UK and South Africa registered company, Bonisa Solutions Ltd., is involved in several related activities on all continents. He has published more than 40 peer reviewed scientific publications, hold a patent, and authored few book chapters in the field of vaccinology.

Dr Charles Bodjo is Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from École Nationale Vétérinaire de Lyon and Faculté de Médecine Université Claude Bernard, Lyon (France), holding a Master of Science (MSc.) Bacteriology-virology from University of Abidjan-Cocody (Côte d’Ivoire) and a PhD in Virology from the Université de Montpellier II (France). He holds also Diplomas of General Immunology and Medical Virology from Pasteur Institute Paris (France). He has over 30 years' experience in the development of serological diagnostic tests, as well as in in vaccine research and quality control. His professional experience also covers laboratory biorisk management. He currently serves as Acting Director of AU-PANVAC and Associate Professor at the Institute of Life and Earth Sciences at Pan-African University in Ibadan, Nigeria.

Dr. Lois Muraguri is the CEO of GALVmed. She is a Kenyan and British national with a law degree from Warwick University and a PhD from Queen Mary University of London, UK, specialising in intellectual property management and public private partnerships that effectively translate research into viable marketable pro-poor products. Through her widely acknowledged work on regulatory harmonization in sub-Saharan Africa, Dr Muraguri has become a highly visible, respected, and influential leader with regulators, policymakers and organisations dedicated to livestock development in Africa. Dr Muraguri has also accumulated a wealth of relevant experience in the north-south technology transfer domain.

Adelaide Ayoyi

Adelaide Ayoyi is the East African Community Mutual Recognition Procedure Coordinator and Regulatory Scientist. She possess a Masters’ degree in Medical Microbiology from Kenyatta University and a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Nairobi. She has over 20 years of experience working in the Kenyan Government in various capacities. Under the State Department of Livestock in the Directorate of Veterinary Services, she worked in disease control, training of animal health personnel, and veterinary medicines regulatory services. She was also very involved in the setting up of the Marketing Authorization department at the newly formed Veterinary Medicines Regulatory Authority (Veterinary Medicines Directorate-Kenya). In her capacity as the head of registration and regulatory department, she was a member of the Coordination Group Mutual Recognition for the EAC MRP process and had a lot of success as a reference country coordinator of EAC MRP process.

Dr William Olaho Mukani

Dr William Olaho Mukani is a Ugandan veterinary scientist and research leader currently serving as Chairperson of the Governing Council of the National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO). He holds Master’s and PhD degrees in Veterinary Pathology and Microbiology from the University of Nairobi. Over his career, he has held senior positions including Director of Animal Resources at Uganda’s Ministry of Agriculture, Programme Leader for Transboundary Animal Diseases at the African Union’s Inter-African Bureau for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR), and President of the OIE Africa Regional Commission. With over 70 scientific publications, Dr Mukani is widely recognised for his contributions to animal health research, regional policy development, and strengthening governance in agricultural science and innovation.
